The election year of 2016 has certainly been one to remember. Even our own community hasn’t escaped the drama this political cycle has provided. Because of Democrat activists employing under-handed tactics, our district now faces the unfortunate situation where we need a new Republican candidate on the ballot for the February 14, 2017 special election.

My name is Anne Neu and I’m running to be your State Representative. Today, I’m asking for your support for the Republican endorsement, on October 13th, to represent our amazing community in the legislature.

Our community deserves a reliable conservative voice with the energy to stand up to the Democrat establishment in St. Paul. I am the candidate who will work for you in the legislature!

I am sure you have a lot of questions about who I am and why I am running. I will be contacting each of you in the coming weeks to discuss my positions on the issues and listen to what you want in a legislator. But in the meantime, here is a little bit about me and my values…

Who is Anne Neu?

I am a resident of North Branch where I have lived for 7 years and I’m a homeschool mom to my five children ages 8 to 17. I work part-time but also enjoy serving in the community. I am an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts and have served on the North Branch Planning Commission.  I’ve also served as Vice President of Minnesota Excellence in Public Service Series, which provides leadership training to conservative women so they can fulfill leadership roles in their careers, communities and government. I have engaged in political advocacy at every level from walking in parades to organizing campaigns. How will I work for you in the legislature?
Real Health Care Reform: People certainly need access to affordable healthcare, but bringing Obamacare to Minnesota was the wrong decision. MNsure has only increased costs and created fewer options for Minnesota families – exactly the opposite of what we were promised! We need to repeal MNsure so it doesn’t continue to waste taxpayers’ money while harming Minnesota families.
Pro-life Advocate:  As a mother, I know that life begins at conception. I’ll fight toe-to-toe against the pro-abortion crowd in St. Paul to fight for those who do not have a voice. Of course, the issue of life isn’t only about the unborn. It’s also about end-of-life issues. As many of you know, my husband recently passed away after battling ALS for several years. Across the country, we’re seeing a disturbing movement toward physician-assisted suicide. I will bring a unique voice to defend our principles on the right to life in St. Paul.
Tax Relief: We need a representative who will vote against higher taxes and against pay raises for politicians. Like you, I see my tax bill increasing every year, and, like you, I have had enough! I will work for Minnesota families to pay less and get more out of their tax bill.

Educational Choice: As a homeschool mom, I have experienced firsthand the benefits educational choice provides families. As your legislator, you have my word: I will fight every day for educational choice.
Protecting Our Second Amendment Rights: Over the years, we’ve seen an unprecedented effort by Democrats to take away our right to protect ourselves and our families. Given the dangers in our world, you can count on me to protect our Second Amendment rights and oppose gun control measures!

Special elections have their challenges and can be unpredictable. We need a candidate who understands the work needed to be done to win a special election! Given my experience running campaigns locally and across the state,  I have the background and experience we need to keep this seat in Republican hands – especially during a special election! In fact, my efforts last February helped to elect a Republican in a special election in Bloomington – a Democrat district that voted 57% for Obama in 2012!The best response to the devious tactics by local Democrat activists is winning convincingly at the ballot box. That’s exactly what I intend to do as the Republican nominee for House District 32B.This is going to be a short, but intense election. I plan to run an aggressive campaign, but I can’t do it alone. I’m asking for your support as we decide who should be the Republican nominee for the February 2017 special election. Please feel free to contact me with any comments, questions, or concerns you have about my campaign and where I stand on the issues! Thank you!
Sincerely,
Anne Neu
